Installed apps

See what is installed and out of date, and keep it current from one list.

  • Find what needs updating. Scan your PC and QuickInstaller shows which installed apps have updates, and whether each is a major or minor one.
  • Update together. After a check, apps with updates are ticked for you, so one click on Update installs them together, silently when the app allows it.
  • Ignore what you do not want. Right-click an app, choose Ignore Update, and skip all updates, beta versions, just one version, or everything until the next major or minor version.
  • Review before you remove. Uninstall opens a review where you pick the apps, set their order, and choose between each app's own uninstaller and automatic uninstall where supported.
  • Modify, repair or close an app. For a single app, Uninstall or change offers Modify and Repair when the publisher allows them, and Terminate to close an app that will not quit.
  • Store and built-in apps on request. Microsoft Store apps and built-in Windows apps are hidden by default. Turn them on in Settings when you want to see them.
  • Real folder sizes, if you want them. Optionally have QuickInstaller measure each app's folder instead of trusting the size its installer reports.

Portable apps

Apps that need no installer get the same care, wherever you keep them.

  • Found where you keep them. QuickInstaller scans the folders you choose and skips the ones you exclude.
  • Updated in place. An update goes into the app's existing folder instead of a new one.
  • Shortcuts on request. Create a shortcut on the desktop, in the Start menu or in a folder you pick, including automatically after an update.
  • Delete your way. Deleting opens a review where you choose Delete permanently or Move to Recycle Bin, and you can make the Recycle Bin your default.
  • Same controls as installed apps. Check for updates, ignore updates and export your list from the Portable Applications view.
  • New ones from Browse. Set Type to Portable in Browse Applications and new portable apps go into your Portable apps location.

Browse and install

Find apps in the QuickInstaller catalog and install several at once.

  • Search and filter. Search by name and narrow by category, type (Installs or Portable) and license (Free, Trial or Paid).
  • Your selection stays put. Apps you tick stay selected across new searches, filters and scrolling. Clear selection starts over.
  • Install many apps in one go. Tick as many apps as you like and install them together. Cancel stops the whole batch.
  • Download without installing. Save an installer with Download package, or turn on Download without installing in Settings. Interrupted downloads can resume when the source allows it.
  • Move to a new PC. Export your installed or portable list to CSV or Excel, then import it in Browse to select the same apps. QuickInstaller tells you how many were selected, already installed or not found.
  • Beta only if you ask. Beta versions are left out unless you turn on Include beta versions in Settings.

Runs on its own

Let QuickInstaller check, and optionally install, in the background while you get on with your day.

  • Scheduled checks. Pick how many days apart and at what time. QuickInstaller checks your installed and portable apps, and can wait until your PC is idle.
  • Optional automatic installs. Turn on Apply updates for installed or portable applications to install them without asking. Ignored apps and apps that cannot update silently are skipped.
  • Quiet by design. A scheduled run starts minimized without taking focus, and only runs while you are signed in to Windows.
  • No surprise permission prompts. Scheduled runs never ask for administrator approval. Updates that need it are skipped unless QuickInstaller already has it.
  • Notifications. Pop-ups tell you about available updates and finished background runs. Sounds are optional, and failures are always shown.
  • Starts with Windows. Start QuickInstaller when you sign in and keep it in the tray.
  • Updates itself. QuickInstaller checks for its own new versions. If an update fails, you can Retry update or Repair QuickInstaller.

Safety and privacy

QuickInstaller stays out of your way and asks before it shares anything.

  • Sharing is off until you say so. Diagnostic reports and usage analytics are separate, optional choices that start off. You can change either under Settings > Data & diagnostics.
  • Digitally signed. QuickInstaller's installer and program files are digitally signed, and QuickInstaller checks the signature of its own updates before replacing itself.
  • Checked downloads. Each download is compared with a checksum from the QuickInstaller catalog before it is installed, and installs that need administrator access are checked again just before they run.
  • Normal permissions. QuickInstaller itself runs without administrator rights. When a task needs them, Windows asks, and one approval covers the whole batch.
  • A safety net. Optionally create a restore point before installing, and let QuickInstaller close a running app before updating it and reopen it afterwards.
  • No account, no ads. You do not need an account unless you submit or vote for an app, and there are no ads or bundled offers.
  • Stable by default. Beta versions are left out of update checks unless you turn on Include beta versions.

Editions and languages

Choose the edition that suits the PC, in your own language.

  • Installed edition. A normal Setup for Windows 10 version 1809 or newer that installs the native x86, x64 or ARM64 version for your PC.
  • Portable edition. One signed QuickInstaller.exe with no installer and no separate runtime, for a folder or USB drive. Its settings file is created beside it only when needed. Portable downloads are available for x86 and x64.
  • Updates itself either way. Both editions update themselves. Portable replaces only the executable and keeps your settings file.
  • Light, dark or follow Windows. Choose the QuickInstaller Violet or Graphite theme, in Light, Dark or system mode.
  • Your language. QuickInstaller has 23 language choices. English and Norwegian are complete, and the others show English for text that is not translated yet.
  • Add or improve a translation. In Settings, open your translations folder, copy your current language as a template, edit it and restart to load it.
