Move to a new PC
Export your list of apps on the old PC and import it on the new one. QuickInstaller finds the matching apps in Browse Applications and selects them, so you can install them in one go. It also works well after a clean Windows reinstall.
On the old PC
- Open Installed Applications. For portable apps, open Portable Applications too.
- Optional: tick the apps you want to take with you.
- Click Export in the toolbar and choose Export all or Export selected.
- In the save window, choose Comma separated CSV file (*.csv) or Excel file (*.xlsx), pick a folder and save.
On the new PC
- Install QuickInstaller and open Browse Applications.
- Click Import and choose your file. The file picker accepts Supported files (*.csv;*.xlsx).
- If you already have apps selected, QuickInstaller asks Keep your selected apps? Choose Keep selected apps or Discard selected apps, or cancel.
- QuickInstaller looks up every app in the file and selects the ones it finds that are not installed yet. The status line reads like "Import: 24 selected, 3 already installed, 2 not found".
- Check the selection, then click Install.
What to expect
- Apps that are not in QuickInstaller's catalog are skipped. They are counted as "not found", and nothing is installed for them.
- Apps already on the new PC are counted but not selected.
- QuickInstaller selects the catalog's current version, not the exact version from the old PC.
- One import can include up to 1,000 different apps.
- After an import, the list shows only your selected apps until you search again.
- If a line in the file is not an exported app line, QuickInstaller names the line number and imports nothing.
