Translate QuickInstaller

Make a translation file

1. Open Settings › Appearance & language › Language & translations.
2. Set Display language to the language you want to start from: your own language to improve it, or English (US) to start a new one.
3. Choose Copy as template. QuickInstaller copies that language file into your translations folder and opens the folder. Open translations folder opens it at any time.
4. Edit the copy in a text editor. For a new language, rename it to the language's code, for example fi-FI.json.
5. Choose Restart application, then pick your language under Display language.

What is inside a file

• A _meta block at the top: culture (must match the file name, such as nb-NO), displayName (the language's own name, such as Norsk) and, for a close regional variant, an optional parent (fr-CA uses fr-FR).
• English (en-US) is the master. It defines every key, so translate the values and never rename a key.
• Keys are grouped by where they appear: Common.* for everyday words, Status.* for status text, Apps.* for the three app lists, and Settings.*, InstalledApps.*, PortableApps.* and BrowseApps.* for one screen each.
• Keep placeholders such as {0} and {1} and the \n line breaks.
• Delete any line you have not translated. Missing keys show English (or the parent language), never blank text. A file with only a few keys works as a set of overrides.

Test it

Adding or editing a file needs Restart application. Switching between languages that are already listed takes effect immediately. If your language is listed but the text stays English, the file probably has a JSON mistake such as a missing comma or quote, and QuickInstaller skips it.
